I am honoured to have been elected Chair of the Avoch and Killen Community Council. After many years in senior management and scientific roles within the NHS, I bring leadership experience and a strong belief in working collaboratively to support positive, practical change. Having made Avoch our home, I see this role as an opportunity to put something back into the community and contribute to its future.
Since moving to Avoch, I’ve come to value the area’s rich heritage, natural environment, and strong community spirit. I believe in listening to the views of all members of our community; the residents, farming community and local businesses; and working together to make progress on the issues that matter most.
One of my key priorities is helping to develop a long-term, community-led Flood Management Plan for Avoch and Killen. With the increasing risks of flooding, it is vital that we take a joined-up and proactive approach and work with agencies and stakeholders to protect our homes, land and infrastructure.
I am also keen to build on the growing sense of community engagement, supporting initiatives that bring people together, encourage wider participation, and strengthen our shared pride in the local environment, nature, and our collective identity.
