Local Representation
The Black Isle, located within the Highland Council area of Scotland, is represented at multiple levels of government: the UK Parliament (MP), the Scottish Parliament (MSP), and the Highland Council (local councillors).
UK Parliament (MP):The Black Isle falls within the Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross constituency. As of 2024, the Member of Parliament (MP) representing this area is Jamie Stone of the Liberal Democrats.
Scottish Parliament (MSP): In the Scottish Parliament, the Black Isle is part of the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency. Since 2016, this constituency has been represented by Kate Forbes of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
Additionally, the Black Isle is included in the Highlands and Islands electoral region, which elects seven regional MSPs through proportional representation. These MSPs represent the broader region and may belong to various political parties.
Highland Council (Local Councillors): At the local government level, the Black Isle corresponds to Ward 9 of the Highland Council. This ward elects three councillors to represent the area. Following the 2022 Highland Council elections, the current councillors for the Black Isle are:
